William maintains a financial services practice as well as managing and training a team of new advisors. A first-generation college graduate, William received a Bachelor's Degree in Law, Policy, and Politics with a Minor in Entrepreneurship from California State University, Long Beach.
His interest in financial services was inspired while taking his first finance course in college. A conversation with his parents led to the discovery that despite their success, they hadn't done any wealth planning. Their explanation for it was enlightening and unexpected; they didn't know anything about it and no one had ever explained it to them. William soon realized that the broader American market is both underserved and unaware of its own wealth building potential. He endeavored to bring access to holistic and comprehensive financial planning to every American no matter what stage in the financial life cycle they found themselves in.
For the past 8 years, William has been serving his clients through various major financial institutions including New York Life and Thrivent Financial. At Merlin, he enjoys the freedom to take a more nuanced, measured, and tailored approach to his solutions-based practice.
Born and Raised in Long Beach, California, William now resides in the San Fernando Valley and maintains clients throughout the entire Southern California area.
Chief amongst his passions is learning new pieces on both the classical and the electric guitar. More recently, he has also taken up learning the piano. When not discovering a new musical piece, you might find William taking his four beloved nieces to Disneyland, playing catch with his adored cats (yes, you read that correctly) or traveling to historically significant places around the country and world.
